Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 July 2026
GatherPet, owned and operated by The Seven Mutts Trust ("we", "us"), helps you collect, organize and share your pet's medical reports. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and the choices you have. It is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, used to sign you in and send service messages.
- Pet data: names, species, breed, date of birth and other details you add.
- Documents you forward: the emails and attachments you send to your private GatherPet address, stored exactly as received, plus the structured information we extract from them (report type, report date, lab name, test values).
- Sender information: the email addresses that send reports to your address, so we can route reports better. You can revoke any sender.
- Payment status: we store only a subscription identifier and its status. Card, UPI and bank details never touch our systems; they are handled by our payment providers (Razorpay in India; Polar, as merchant of record, elsewhere) under their own compliance obligations.
How we use it
- To file your documents under the right pet and category. Each forwarded document is read once by an automated extraction service to identify the pet, report type, date and values.
- To let you share records through links you create and control.
- To operate billing, trials, and service emails (sign-in links, trial reminders, export notices).
We do not sell your data. We do not use your pet's medical data for advertising. We do not train machine-learning models on your documents.
Automated document reading
To extract information from forwarded reports, document content is processed by a third-party AI service (Anthropic) under a zero-retention configuration: content is processed to produce the extraction and is not retained by the provider or used to train models. If we change providers or terms, this policy will be updated first.
Where your data lives
Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure with a preference for Asia-Pacific locations. We do not currently guarantee India-only storage. Payment data is handled and localized by Razorpay in India as required by the RBI.
Sharing
Records are shared only through links you create. Links expire, can carry a password, and can be revoked at any time. Our staff do not browse your records; any exceptional access for support requires your request and is logged.
Retention and deletion
- While your account is active, we retain your data to provide the service.
- If you stop paying, your account becomes export-only. You can download everything for 45 days.
- After 45 days, your documents and data are permanently deleted, including stored files.
- You can delete your account and all data yourself, immediately, from Settings ("Delete my account"), or request it via the contact page.
For users outside India
GatherPet is built in India and serves pet parents worldwide. If you use GatherPet from outside India:
- Who you buy from: paid subscriptions outside India are sold by Polar, acting as merchant of record; applicable sales tax or VAT is collected and remitted by them. The service is operated by SIDDATWORK under license from The Seven Mutts Trust.
- International transfer: your data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (Asia-Pacific preference, as above) and processed as described in this policy, under Cloudflare's standard contractual safeguards.
- United States: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor access, portability and deletion rights for all users, from inside the app: Settings offers "Download my data" and "Delete my account", both self-serve and immediate.
- European Union and United Kingdom: we honor GDPR data-subject rights through the same self-serve tools; our subprocessors are Cloudflare (infrastructure), Anthropic (document reading, zero retention), Google (analytics on our public pages only, never in the app), and our payment providers. Write to us via the contact page for anything the tools do not cover.
Cookies and analytics
Inside the app, and on any record you share with a vet, we set only strictly necessary cookies: your sign-in session, and the proof that you unlocked a password-protected link. There is no analytics and no tracking of any kind on those pages. What your animal has been through is nobody else's business, and we are not going to hand it to an analytics company.
On our public pages (gather.pet, the clinics page and these legal pages) we use Google Analytics to see which pages actually help people understand what GatherPet does. It sets its own cookies and tells us things like which page you arrived on, roughly which country you are in, and which site sent you. We keep Google's advertising and personalisation features switched off, so this is never used to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not run ads.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland nothing is measured until you accept the banner. Elsewhere analytics starts on and the banner offers a real no, which we remember on your device. Changed your mind either way?
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may access, correct, and erase your personal data, and withdraw consent. Write to us via the contact page and we will respond within the timelines the law prescribes. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
